    I remember the Imperial Musigraph well. I was working for Imperial Typewriter Co Ltd in Leicester when Mrs Pavey’s invention was funded. We converted the standard Model 70 typewriter to work to her specifcations. Difficult is the best description of the machine, inventor, and senior engineers in the factory. She knew almost as much about typewriters as they did. Some were not happy with that. She thought outside of the box; a box they had occupied for many years. The senior type designer had had no other job in 49 years.
